COLUMBIA, Mo. — Texas A&M didn’t just beat Missouri on Saturday. The Aggies imposed their will.

Behind a balanced attack, No. 3 A&M rolled past No. 19 Missouri, 38-17, at Faurot Field to stay unbeaten with just weeks remaining in the College Football regular season.

From the first drive, Texas A&M set the tone. Quarterback Marcel Reed looked composed in the pocket, mixing quick throws with keepers that kept Missouri’s defense on its heels.

Reed threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns Aggies continued their best start since 1992.

“You know, from a CEO perspective, I believe this is what this program is capable of. This is why we’re here. We believe the ceiling of this program is really high,” Aggies coach Mike Elko said. “This is what everyone has been talking about."

Reed found Ashton Bethel-Roman late in the first quarter for a touchdown and A&M's defense made life difficult for Missouri backup quarterback Matt Zollers, who fumbled the ball – which then turned into an Aggies touchdown by EJ Smith. Texas A&M led 14-0 going into the second half and more in the next two quarters.

"We were just trying to get after the freshman quarterback,” Sanford said. “I was surprised (Brooks) got the ball. I looked up and I seen him running and I didn’t know if the ball was on the ground or in the air. I wanted him to go score.”

In a flash, A&M's 14-0 halftime lead 21-0 lead. The Aggies would force Missouri into bad throws and when the Tigers wanted to make it a game? Elko's team came out strong defensively.

The Aggies never gave up on the run game, even when it was going poorly, and they finally broke through in the fourth quarter.
