San Antonio FC re-signs Luke Haakenson to multiyear deal

The news comes one day after the club announced its initial list of returning players for the 2026 USL Championship season.

San Antonio FC announced on Thursday that the club has re-signed midfielder Luke Haakenson to a multiyear contract ahead of the upcoming 2026 season.

Haakenson returns for his third year in San Antonio after a successful 2025 season, where he tallied five goals and 19 chances created in 1,469 minutes of play.

The news comes one day after the club announced its initial list of returning players for the 2026 USL Championship season. Jorge Hernandez, Mitch Taintor, Santiago Patiño, Joey Batrouni, and Lucio Berron are returning next season. Dmitrii Erofeev, Alex Greive and Alexis Souahy are back in 2026 as well.

Additionally, the club has exercised options on Nicky Hernandez, Diogo Pacheco and Richard Sanchez.
